I love educating people about how optimal nutrition can change their lives! Think of this: the food provided by nature enters your body and then nourishes and sustains you. If you consume healthy, high quality foods they can help prevent many of the chronic diseases that we assume are unavoidable. Those same healthy foods can help heal bodies that have already become sick.
Although prevention of disease makes the most sense to me, I also thrive on watching people’s health improve over time as they begin changing their eating and exercise habits.
Credentials and experience are crucial when you decide to work with a nutritionist. There are many “nutrition counselors” whose qualifications are questionable. I received my dietetics degree from the University of Minnesota and my Masters in Public Health Nutrition from the University of California at Berkeley.
I have over 30 years experience as a registered dietitian and behavioral health educator and have worked with people of all ages.
I live in the Midwest and love walking and hiking, even during the winter. There’s nothing like a walk outside on the day of the first snowfall! I love to cook and adapt recipes to use lots of fresh vegetables and herbs to prove that nutritious food doesn’t have to be bland and boring.
I have two adult children who are living proof that if you offer a variety of tasty, healthy food to kids while they are growing up, they will develop great healthy eating habits.
